Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort

Suzanne Wang collaborated with award-winning interior designer Nicole Hollis to create a collection of sculptural and functional ceramic works for Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort. Most notably, Wang created thirty-five large-scale wall sconces installed throughout the Hale Moana Restaurant and Kahuwai Cookhouse dining spaces. Inspired by the ocean and the elemental textures of the shoreline, the sconces evoke shells, coral, and otherworldly marine forms - objects that reveal subtle variations and individual character upon closer inspection. In addition to these sculptural installations, Wang was commissioned to create more than 1,400 ceramic pieces for the resort’s lobby, guest rooms, and presidential suites, including welcome amenity vessels, soap dishes, catch-all plates, bedside jewelry holders, and decorative objects. Scattered throughout the property, the collection reflects the feeling of treasures discovered along the beach, blending refined craftsmanship with the natural textures and rhythms of Hawaiʻi’s coastal landscape.
